We all start living life full of hopes and dreams until your life is damaged with depression. Depression has its way of creeping into your life and making everything you ever wanted seem impossible. Waking up to the thoughts of worthlessness, failure, and inadequateness presses in on your ability to move. As this disease start to tear you down, your mood starts to follow the stench of the negative aroma fueling from the disorder that is now filtrating your mind. While thoughts are running back and forth, back and forth, you wonder why this is happening to me? After much deliberation and days of struggle you realize that help is needed to mend the fragments of disorganized thoughts that are scattered in multiple universes of reality.
The journey into a therapy session is a step towards mental recovery. It bridges the path to clarity and growth. Typically, most dislike the avenue to recovery because it requires vulnerability and openness in front of strangers. The process hasn't gained a lot of popularity, but it has been effective in my recovery. This blog will document my journey from the depths of my depression to my recovery. Today I feel better than the last few days. I want to live and feel better, so I can enjoy life. That can all change very quickly as I navigate through this day. I still have a gray cloud over me trying to rain on my progress today. Yesterday was so low, I captured this poem to express my thoughts.
Why live?
Things are not going the way that I thought it would go.
My thoughts are racing,
my life is shattered,
my dreams are paused,
what shall I do?
The tears are unbearable,
my life.
Why live?
The road of life has been so unpredictable,
Turns have disappointed me,
U-turns have damaged me,
While those who have walked with me have given up on me,
I have seen them win and make their dreams real.
I cheered them on with no envy inside just a wish for a win for me.
Alone I end up after others move on,
Why live?
I still have dreams and goals that I want to achieve.
I have to be ready for the fight if there is a reason to go on.
I may not be liked or adored, but I will stay in the race,
why live?
I have time to become my very best.
It might seem hard; the climb might be challenging, but I will kick this depression out.
I will fight and hold tight to make this life count.
