Living with depression and anxiety is a daily struggle even when you are taking medication daily. The meds work most of the time, but sometimes it is still hard to get motivated. Knowing that it takes extra for you to get the day started compared to others, can make you feel weird. It's like "Why do I have to take medication just to go to work and live?" After much thought, I realize it doesn't matter. I still have the opportunity to be great with the right actions.
Recently I have been exercising to rid some of my stress factors that contribute to my depression spirals. I walk outdoors in the morning and use affirmations to direct my day. The daily affirmations and the outdoor experience for me is amazing. The smell of the air and the innocence of sky’s perfection inspires me to live on purpose.
The other thing I recently started focusing on is making friends. I call them and talk to people more. It is very uncomfortable because I was in depression for years. While I was experiencing depression, I didn’t want to talk to people or even go places. Talking to people takes my mind off of my issues and we talk about all sorts of things that make me feel valued.

Despite my strategic approach to diverting my emotions, I still make simultaneously decisions. The decisions over the last few months have been crazy and not good. I am now looking for ways to maintain discipline to calculate my moves better.
I would love to hear from you. Do you have strategies for creating a more intentional way to stay disciplined?
